VA disability combined rating

Your result
How this works
Add each rating. VA doesn't add percentages: it combines them from highest to lowest, each one applying to what's left of the "whole person". Check the box for ratings on paired limbs (both arms or both legs) to apply the bilateral factor.

Method: 38 CFR 4.25 (combined ratings table; final value rounded to the nearest 10, with 5s rounded up) and 38 CFR 4.26 (bilateral factor: 10% of the combined bilateral value is added before further combining). See also VA.gov: about disability ratings.

Terminal leave vs selling back leave
Your numbers
Your result
How this works
Selling leave pays basic pay only (1/30 of monthly basic pay per day). Taking terminal leave keeps your regular pay and allowances coming until your separation date. Enter your own numbers from your LES.
Sources and check dates
Rules: lump-sum leave pay is basic pay only, and there's a 60-day career limit on days you can sell, per 37 U.S.C. 501. BAH and BAS aren't taxable; basic pay and leave sold are. Before tax; doesn't include special pays.

How this works
Compare what you may be reimbursed with what you expect to spend. We don't pre-fill rates: look up the current official numbers (links below) and enter them.

Look up rates: DLA rates (DTMO) · PCS mileage rates (DTMO) · Per diem lookup (DTMO) · Joint Travel Regulations. DTMO lists the PCS mileage (MALT) rate as $0.235 per mile from Jul 1, 2026, covering everyone in the car.
Travel days by car: 1 day for the first 400 miles, then 1 day per 350 miles (a remainder of 51+ miles adds a day). Your entitlements are set by the JTR and your orders; ask your transportation office.
